Salary always depends on experience and skills, but as a rule of thumb, you can expect about higher wages in America than in Australia and New Zealand. New Concept Group pays you an hourly rate plus a quarterly bonus.

How much should I expect to pay in taxes?

We are not licensed tax advisors, so you will need consult a professional tax preparer. However, our CPA has advised us that taxes are payable on all income earned in America. In the US, the tax year is from January 1 to December 31 with taxes due on April 15 following the close of the tax period. Under US law, New Concept Group deposits a portion of your biweekly paycheck with the federal government to cover Federal and State income taxes, Social Security and Medicare Taxes.

What about the American health care system?

Some prospective employees from abroad mention this concern. America’s health care system is among the most advanced in the world. New Concept Group Technology provides comprehensive, private health care coverage for you, the principal, so access to excellent health care is not a problem. Health coverage for your family can be purchased through New Concept Group at group rates.

Can I work in the US on a B1/B2 visa?

No. The working visa for technical professionals is the H1B visa. There are other working visas available, but only to those professionals transferred to the US by their employer in another country.

Can my spouse work if I come to the US on an H1B visa?

Spouses must get their own H1B to work in the USA. The minimum requirements are to have a technical degree and at least three years of work in the field for which you are being hired. The work must show the skills needed by the employer and demonstrate increasing responsibility.

Can I get an H1B if I am already in the USA?You can get an H1B visa IF you are here on a B1/B2 visa. Tourist visas cannot be converted while you are here in the US.

How long is the H1B visa good for?

The visa allows you to work in the US for up to six years. Its good for an initial three years and renewable for three years. A "green card," which allows you to work for other employers without restriction, can be applied for once you have an H1B visa AND a sponsoring employer.

Does New Concept Group sponsor green cards as well as the H1B visas?

We consider a green card sponsorship after you have worked for New Concept Group for one year as it is an expensive, long-term process. We want to make sure the relationship works for everyone before we begin. The green card process costs about $5,000 (more if there is a family) and takes two to four years.
